These are the terms for using astra. They are short on purpose. By making an account or joining a capsule you agree to them.

what astra is

astra is a camera for groups, made for iPhone. A host makes a capsule, people join it with a code or link, signing in with their email or joining as a guest with just a first name, everyone shoots, and the capsule develops at a set time. Nothing is visible to anyone before then, apart from a peek someone buys, which shows them one random photo and nobody else. A host can make a capsule public, which shows it in the gallery inside astra once it develops.

your photos

You own what you shoot. By uploading a photo to a capsule you give us permission to store it and show it to the members of that capsule, which is the whole point of the app, and, if the host made the capsule public and you have not taken the photo out of it, to anyone using astra. You give the people who can see it permission to view and save it. We claim no other rights.

You can delete any photo you took, and you can leave any capsule you did not start.

Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and do not upload photos of people who have asked not to be photographed.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. No nudity or sexual content, no harassment, hate, threats or violence, and nothing that is illegal where you or we are. A host can remove people and delete photos. Anyone can report a photo, or block the person who took it so they never see their photos again. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules and close the accounts that post it. Reach us at support@astracamera.com.

purchases

astra plus is a subscription that renews monthly or yearly until you cancel it in your Apple ID's subscription settings. Peeks and bigger capsules are one-time purchases. Prices are shown before you buy. Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules.

Developing is never locked behind payment. A capsule always reveals to everyone in it.

your account

Keep your sign-in code to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it at any time from settings. A guest account has no email, so it cannot be signed back into once you sign out; add an email to keep it. A guest cannot start capsules or buy anything.

the honest part

We work hard to never lose a photo, and the app keeps a local copy until the server confirms an upload. Still, astra is provided as is, and we cannot promise it will be free of bugs or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months.
