A disposable camera for a bachelorette weekend
A bachelorette is two or three days in two or three places, and the reason people put their phones away is not battery.
Nothing goes anywhere unless you say so
Set the capsule to “people who were there” and the photos are visible to that room and nobody else. astra has no followers, no likes and no counts, and nothing is ever posted on anyone’s behalf. A host can make a capsule public, which puts it in the gallery inside astra after it develops — worth knowing it is the default for a new capsule, and worth turning off for this one.
One capsule per day, not one for the trip
Friday night and Sunday brunch are different rooms and should open separately. Start a capsule for each and each opens the next morning, so the weekend arrives in instalments instead of as one overwhelming dump on Monday.
Set it up before you go
Put the link in the group chat before the first night. Anyone can join from it with a first name, in the iPhone app or the browser, and an email code keeps their photos. On a weekend where half the group has met once, get that done on the sofa, not at the door.
Everyone is in the photos
Including whoever would otherwise be holding the camera. Twelve frames each and no previews means people actually hand the phone around.

- Nobody sees a single photo until it opens.
- In the morning every photo appears at once, and none of them expire.
