How they actually differ
These are different products
POV is a photo-sharing platform: guests scan a code, photos land in a gallery the host can brand, moderate and put on a screen. astra is a disposable camera that happens to be shared — the film and the wait are the product, and the gallery is what is left afterwards.
A live slideshow is the opposite of the point
POV can put the photos on a screen as they arrive, and for a conference or a bar that is genuinely the right feature. astra cannot, and will not: the whole design is that nobody sees anything until the morning. If you want the room watching itself in real time, do not buy astra.
Branding
POV does custom branding and graphic overlays, which is why its venue and corporate pages lead with them. astra puts its own frame on a shared photo and offers no way to replace it with your logo. For a brand activation that is disqualifying.
POV is the more established product
It shows 4.9 stars from over 28,000 ratings on its own pricing page, has twelve use-case pages and a separate business platform. astra is newer and smaller, and you should weigh that.
Which one to buy
Choose POV if you need custom branding, a live slideshow, photobooks, or you are running a venue or a brand activation rather than a party.
Choose astra if you want photographs that look like film, the anticipation of not seeing them, and something that is also a camera on a normal day.
